Why it matters
Assistants combine broad access to personal data with the power to act. That makes them a prime target for indirect prompt injection, where attackers hide commands in content the assistant will read.

Personal had meant of the body, then of one particular person. Assistant had meant a helper standing by since the 1500s. British offices joined them in the early 20th century as a job title for an aide to one principal. Computing borrowed the pair in 1992 for the handheld organizer, then in the 2010s for voice-driven software on a phone.
