Ramp Stop
Stop method that reduces commanded frequency along a programmed deceleration ramp.

- Plain English
- A ramp stop brings the motor down along the deceleration ramp until it reaches zero, then removes power. The drive stays in control of the motor all the way down.
- Example
- A conveyor's stop button triggers a ramp stop. The belt slows steadily over five seconds and stops where the ramp says it will.
- Why it matters
- A ramp stop is controlled and predictable, which is right for anything that carries product or needs to stop in a known place. It also regenerates, so a heavy load on a short ramp needs a chopper, and an emergency stop should never depend on a ramp.
