Motor Electronic Overload
Drive thermal model that estimates motor heating from current, speed, time, and configured motor data.

- Plain English
- The electronic overload is a thermal model inside the drive that estimates how hot the motor is from its current, its speed and time. When the model says the winding is too hot, the drive trips.
- Example
- A conveyor motor runs at 120 percent current for ten minutes. The model integrates the excess heat, decides the winding has reached its limit, and stops the drive on motor overload.
- Why it matters
- It replaces the bimetal overload relay, and it is only as good as the nameplate current and the cooling assumptions you gave it. Set the wrong FLA or forget that a shaft fan slows at low speed, and the model protects a motor that does not exist.
